A Summersville native, Kate describes herself as an outdoors-oriented person who grew up boating, swimming, and hiking at Summersville Lake.
Kate studied finance at WVU and Penn State. She initially planned to become a real estate appraiser, but she was drawn to sales after a positive experience working with Grist Real Estate when she and her husband bought their home in White Sulphur Springs.
In addition to residential properties, Kate is particularly interested in representing commercial and investment property buyers and sellers. She observes, “Investors look at properties very differently than homeowners do. It’s the number one way people build long-term wealth.”
She enjoys the family-like atmosphere at Grist Real Estate, and she is impressed that the team embraces new technology. She notes that “The whole real estate transaction process moves much faster now because of technology.”
Kate and her husband Archy, a fly-fishing guide at The Greenbrier, are the proud parents of a newborn son, Atlas, who is currently stealing a bit of attention from their three cats, Sibel, Baby Cat, and Angel. She has noticed that nearly everyone else at Grist seems to have dogs. “I’d love to adopt a retired bomb-detecting dog from the military eventually,” she says. “But with a new child, we’re not quite ready for that yet.”
